Earlier this year, twelve students and young heritage professionals from across Europe and beyond have been selected as the 2023 cohort of the European Heritage Youth Ambassadors Programme, coordinated by Europa Nostra, The European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH) and The European Heritage Tribune.
For Europa Nostra (EN), supporting young people has always been a priority, demonstrated by events like the 2018 “The Future is Heritage” Summit, the 2019 Capacity Building Days, and initiatives like free membership for 18-33 year olds, and the newly launched European Heritage Youth Ambassadors Programme.
At the beginning of the year, Europa Nostra announced the commencemnet of their European Heritage Youth Ambassadors Programme in partnership with the European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH) and the European Heritage Tribune. There are currently 11 Amabassadors from 13 countries across Europe, with two representatives for the UK.

On Wednesday 24th February, sixteen Europa Nostra UK young members held a discussion with John Darlington, Executive Director of the World Monuments Fund Britain (WMF). World Monuments Fund Britain is a UK charity dedicated to the conservation of exceptional works of architecture and monuments for people.
On 7th December 2020, Europa Nostra UK hosted their second Young Person’s Roundtable discussion. The discussion was led by Lucy Hockley, of the Weald and Downland Living Museum.
